As summer wraps up, Osage Beach celebrates a big win! Brody Spriggs has clinched the national title and is now gearing up for the world championships in Australia at the end of September. Excitement is in the air as we cheer on our hometown star! Brody’s coach, Kirby Liesmann, has traveled with Brody to the past 3 wakeboard World Championships, and he stated earlier this week, “Yes I am fortunately also able to go compete at worlds this year too!” Others accompanying Brody to Australia are his mom Paulette, fellow competitor Spencer Trice, and his dad Jason. His mom stated, “We are excited to go to Australia. He has been working really hard on his run. We fly out on September 22nd and return September 30. I wish we could stay for 3 weeks and explore, but maybe another time!!”
The world championships will be held on the stunning Gold Coast of Australia from September 26th to 28th. This will mark Brody’s fourth time competing at Worlds, a testament of his dedication and skill. With 12 years of wakeboarding experience under his belt, Brody’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. He started training intensely a month before the competition, aiming to replicate his national success on the world stage.
When asked about his plan for the competition, Brody confidently stated, “Go win Worlds just like I did at Nationals.” His training regimen is rigorous, involving daily wakeboarding sessions and practicing his competition ride every time he rides. “I wakeboard with Kirby, my coach, two to three times a week,” he added.
Despite his intense training schedule, Brody maintains a balanced day-to-day life. “Wake up, wakeboard or trampoline training, go to school, work, wakeboard again, sleep, repeat,” he described. Although he doesn’t follow a specific meal plan, he expressed a desire to adopt one in the future.
The community of Osage Beach is behind Brody, cheering him on as he prepares to paint the Gold Coast with his stellar performances. With his unwavering determination and the support of his loved ones, Brody Spriggs is ready to make waves at the world championships.
