The only constant is change, and School of the Osage is here to embrace it. This year, Osage High School will experience fresh faces and a few familiar ones as we start the 2024-2025 Year of Resilience. One of those faces is reflective, saying, “I always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in kindergarten.” Mrs. Hannah Lenz is that teacher who has always wanted to be in the classroom; she currently teaches marketing, social media, and entrepreneurship.
In addition to someone new in the business department, Osage has a new teacher in the social studies department: Coach Chris Lawson. He became a teacher because he “had a lot of great influences, teachers…coaches that had an impact on [his] life.” Perhaps these influences have given him a perspective on being more than just a student. He believes “[students] are not just students; [they] have other gifts and talents.” Coach Lawson is excited to see what the students on his rosters excel at not just in the classroom but also outside the classroom.
Our final new faculty member is Ms. Martin in the counseling department. She has balanced scheduling and counseling and meeting students all while keeping a smile on her face. Welcome to our new faces!
In addition to our brand new teachers and staff this year, we cannot forget about our teachers who are new to the high school building or new to different roles this year: Mr. Paulmann, Ms. Moore, and Mrs. Randall in the social studies department. Last but not least, our teachers who are going into their second year at the high school deserve recognition for making it through their first year at Osage and choosing to stay. Those teachers include Ms. Caldwell, Fine Arts Department; Mr. Jurgens, Business Department; Mr. Karch, mathematics department and Ms. Boberg, Counseling Department.
Welcome to Osage, and thank you for choosing us!
