Mrs. Heidi Newell, Adviser
Mrs. Newell is in her 23rd year of education and appreciates the daily world of high school students. Her experience involves facilitating instruction in the ELA classroom and tying other disciplines into the real-world relevance of students’ education. She enjoys writing assessment items and creating a curriculum full of cooperative learning activities and visible learning strategies. A perpetual fan of sunny skies and large bodies of water, Mrs. Newell’s favorite season is summer. She can often be found lakeside with a book in hand and a dream of how to implement its ideas for the classroom in mind. A follower of many professional sports teams, Mrs. Newell has made a goal of visiting as many MLB and NFL ballparks as possible in her lifetime. In addition to professional sports, Mrs. Newell loves traveling, cooking, and celebrating special moments with family and friends. She lives with her husband Fred and their Golden Doodle Bentley, and they have five children: Molly, Colton, Dominic, James, and Gillian.
