This week’s featured Students of the Week at School of the Osage are members of Marlee Diver’s All Star cheer team. They are two very hard-working students who balance going to school, going to cheer practice, attending competitions, and many other daily and life events.
The first featured student is Reese VanHook. She is a 7th grader who is on two cheer teams. She has 12 hours of practice each week that are usually pretty intense workouts along with two different routines for both of the cheer teams. She does this while also doing homework, going to school, traveling the country for competitions, and just living her life.
The second featured student is Jorga Maxwell, a freshman who is also on two cheer teams. She wakes up at 6:00 AM for school, leaves school at 3:40PM, and heads home for about an hour and a half before she has cheer practice at 6:00 PM. She usually arrives home around 9:30 PM. At that point, she still has to eat dinner, shower, do more homework, and be ready to wake up early the very next day.
As someone who does this same thing every week, I can tell you that it is a very hard commitment and is not for the weak. That is why these students are at the top of the list to choose for featured students at Osage.
