Lexie Porter

From a young age, children are constantly taking in new information about the world around them to develop their skills and interests; no one knows this better than Lexie. Since childhood she has had a keen eye for business, always trying to learn as much about the topic as possible. This led to a decision during her freshman year that would unmistakably change her high-school experience for the better: she joined DECA. Who could have known then that three years later she would be recognized among the very best in Missouri and even secure a nomination to DECA’s international conference in Anaheim, California? Her aspirations for business don’t simply end after high school, however, as Lexie plans to continue her education at the University of Missouri under their school for Business.

Deacon Lipsmeyer
Deacon Lipsmeyer, Staff Reporter
Deacon is currently a senior at School of the Osage High School. Even though this is his first semester with the journalism team, Deacon has always been in love with writing. He remembers as a child that he used to design and write stories for comic books that he created. For the longest time, Deacon felt he wanted to be a journalist, and "after a few years of soul searching, [he] realized the dream was still alive and well" and joined the journalism team as a staff reporter and editor. Deacon has been accepted into the journalism program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and cannot wait to continue delivering the best quality journalism as he develops his skills.
