To any habitual listener, it is no secret the power that music can hold. So when asked about his favorite album of all time, there was absolutely no surprise when Trevor answered with the 2016 Grammy award-nominated 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole. Digging a little deeper, though, it becomes clear that the pick is not entirely tied to the music itself, saying that it was tied to so many memories that it very well may have been the soundtrack to his childhood. This was also the album he remembers listening to the first time he ever played tennis, a tradition that Trevor has kept through high school and an even more impressive tennis career. Aside from the music he also credits his mother with his success in the sport, claiming that none of it would have been possible without her support. So whether it was natural athletic talent or the music, he is thankful for it all.

Deacon is currently a senior at School of the Osage High School. Even though this is his first semester with the journalism team, Deacon has always been in love with writing. He remembers as a child that he used to design and write stories for comic books that he created. For the longest time, Deacon felt he wanted to be a journalist, and "after a few years of soul searching, [he] realized the dream was still alive and well" and joined the journalism team as a staff reporter and editor.
Deacon has been accepted into the journalism program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and cannot wait to continue delivering the best quality journalism as he develops his skills.
