Peyton Havner

In this world few people truly take the time to soak up and appreciate all the beauty of life; Peyton Havner, however, is one of them. Before even leaving high school he has become not only familiar with death but comfortable with the power that it holds to bring people together. He is an adamant believer that “after something bad happens, it is usually followed by something good.” Even through tragedy, though, Peyton continues to find happiness in things like nature, specifically hunting. He says that a great deal of deep care goes into taking the life of another animal, from tracking it, to properly cleaning it. It would appear that within his world the circle of life is in full effect, all thanks to the help of some excellent staff members here at Osage. Specifically, Peyton cited his Algebra teacher, Mr. Johnson, for teaching him just what exactly it meant to be not only a good man but a good father. In that regard he has certainly succeeded; his kindness and compassion continue to make him loved by absolutely everyone he meets.

Deacon Lipsmeyer, Staff Reporter
Deacon is currently a senior at School of the Osage High School. Even though this is his first semester with the journalism team, Deacon has always been in love with writing. He remembers as a child that he used to design and write stories for comic books that he created. For the longest time, Deacon felt he wanted to be a journalist, and "after a few years of soul searching, [he] realized the dream was still alive and well" and joined the journalism team as a staff reporter and editor. Deacon has been accepted into the journalism program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and cannot wait to continue delivering the best quality journalism as he develops his skills.
