Katie Meisner

2024 was filled with many new sayings, but the one that Katie Meisner hates the most is “2016 feels like it was four years ago” or anything of the sort. Who knows what sayings will be popular in 10 years? All Katie knows is that in ten years she hopes to be out of Missouri, and believes wherever she will be, she will be in debt. While that may not be the best outcome, she is at least confident in her survival skills when being stranded on a desert island. When asked, “What five items would you take with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?” Katie answered with an interesting take. Katie does not even need five items. All she needs is an army of orcas and gummy worms. In her words, “The orcas would amass so much havoc that the global superpowers would have to negotiate with me for the chaos to end, thus getting me off the island and giving me lots of taxpayers’ money to pocket.” And the gummy worms are there because it is her favorite food, and she would be able to survive off of them for weeks on end.

About the Contributor
Montana Walters, Staff Reporter
Montana has always questioned who she is. When she was younger, she was obsessed with anything Disney, Barbie, and video games. But now Montana finds herself struggling to figure out what she is truly passionate about. She likes specific movies but expresses that even that passion fades after a while. One thing, though, has always stuck with Montana: writing. Throughout her life, she would write a lot of short stories. Most of them, she admits, were not up to par, but she slowly grew as a writer. Montana studied grammar and found herself getting better grades on essays in school. Montana says that this skill she gained helps qualify her as a news writer, as she can structure her writing better.
